I haven’t tried it for a while, but I think Bliptracker will send MIDI over the network if you hook it up via DSMI – so you can record the MIDI in your DAW later on.

Not 100% sure of this but probably worth a shot.

Great app.
I started testing and after fiew days when i ran dsmcu “midi?” apears for 5 minutes. It means ds wont connect.
I started checking every possible properitys. All was ok. HMMM. Router?
Mariocart over WFC works fine.
When i change channel from 6 to 8 on router’s wifi settings all comes back.
App runs great. Connection works. I’ve got plans to use dsmcu on my live PAs. We’ll see.
So check everything including router.
Probably too big traffic on wifi freq.

Hi, Have been using these programs for a while, haven’t yet seen a way of generating and dumping a midi file? For example a very basic set of samples could be stored with the nds file, enough to work with whilst on the move, allowing you to make a beat and dump the midi file when you get back to the workstation.. Any idea’s on this topic? Thanks in advance. Ps Good work on the blog, shame there hasn’t been much recent development since ds-10..

Tried it on my DS Lite, using a R4 flash device. Everything runs perfectly fine, and here’s a video to prove it: http://3.ly/Bliptracker

With many homebrew apps, it’s important to place them in the root of your flash memory, preserving the original directory structure, so that the program can fins all the files. Placing homebrew software in subdirectories may cause problems.

Hi there.

I am trying to use your app on a Nintendo ds Lite with Reaper.

1. The WiFi settings on the Nintendo are OK; in fact, it can correctly connect to the Internet (I tested this with several applications and games)
2. Also, DSMidiWifi is working correctly: I used it with several applications

Now, I had DSMCU working just once, using Mackie Control Universal as you suggest.

Then, I tried to change the control surface to Behringer BFC2000 (since I have one): now, it does not connect anymore to the network (not even if I select again the Mackie Control Universal). The app keeps showing “MIDI ?” and the led on the Nintendo blinks slowly (no network connection).

What am I doing wrong?

Nice collection. But isn’t there a little program where you can create sheet music on a DS, and listen to it ? And save it ? Like, when you travel for 2 hours in a train, have an idea for a nice tune, create and save it, and continue working on it when you’re home ?
